The 2-Minute Rule That Saves Me an Hour a Day
Most of the time, life is to busy, to messy, and to tedious to stop and sort out what to do next, because their is so much to do: and this is why I have learned the 2-Minute Rule.
Here’s how it works: if a task takes two minutes or less, do it right away. That’s it. No fancy planner, no overthinking. Just instant action.
Why it works:
-
Two-minute tasks pile up like straws in a hay stack, emails, dirty cups, tidying the desk, starting the laundry, stuffing the dishes in the oven cause you're moms coming 😂😂😁. Just Kidding, or am I ? 😏 A quick reply, wiping the counter, making a shopping list, posting on your social media, calling your friend for a quick check in: Knock them out before they grow teeth. 💪
-
You cut down decision fatigue. No “Should I do it now or later?” You just do it.
-
Your brain feels lighter. Clearing the little stuff frees up focus for the big things.
This rule has saved me hours each week. Instead of being buried under dozens of nagging micro-tasks, I end the day with a clean slate and a lot more energy.
The stress of many to do's will SLOW YOU DOWN. Having you looking like 😓😒😑😕😞 Nocking out the little things first reduces your sense of being overwhelmed. Don't dread it, do it. You will be glad you did. 💓💕
Try it for one day, you’ll be amazed how much smoother life feels when the tiny to-dos don’t stand a chance.
Your Turn!
What’s one two-minute task you’ve been putting off? Go do it right now, then come back and tell me in the comments how it felt.
Happy hustling! ✨
